Walk and sportlines fitted today...
« on: March 31, 2011, 09:34:47 pm »
Hi lads,  I got WALK and eibach sportlines fitted today plus 4 wheel allignment on my 2005 gti,

took the car out for a bit of spirited driving this evening and lets just say I'm very happy with the result.

The car seems much more flatter in the corners and like i've read there is almost no wheel spin when hard accelerating...

I think these mods are really well worth it.

Ive noticed a slight sqweek from the front passenger side, the guy in the garage said he checked and everything seems fine,

anybody come across the same thing? happens when I go over ramps or bumps...

thanks

Try spraying wd40 on the anti roll bar bushes, and see if stops it.

mine did this, and this stops it.........for a while

I had my front struts, springs, top mount bushes, guides, and it still did it.

it sounds like dry Anti roll bar bushes.( behind front jacking points, in round metal housings, with black rubbers inside. Douse them in wd40 and see if it stops.

Yes, just get on your hands and knees, and you will be able to spray them with the red tube in a can of wd40 to soak them.

If your gonna replace them, it's up on ramps for easiest access.

If squeak goes, then housings off to lube them :signLOL:

The front ARB bushes stit on top of the subframe at each side, it wouldn't be easy to grease the without dropping the frame!

Hasn't got any worse since I've sprayed them, once a month when I remember, and she's still quiet not enough to warrant spending on new bushes.

to change them you need to drop the subframe which means you should really do an alignment check, but I have marked the position of the subframe in several places with marker pen before dropping and put it back in the same place before now

Are you using the standard shocks with the sportlines?
Without traction power is nothing!
