Ports/Connections On RNS
« on: April 07, 2011, 10:35:37 am »
Working on upgrading the RNS system, but really need some guidance, as local shops just tell me to cut/splice the loom <  :stupid:

Have the RNS510.......and over the next few weeks will be adding the following:

1) MDI unit in arm rest.......(is this the correct adaptor from the head unit to MDI box?)

2) Rear monitors - any advice on which one?

3) Rear Camera

4) The hands free kit for the RNS < my parrott is doing my head in!!
Believe it's the FISCON kit < there are several different ones, how do I know which one is for me?

and the BIG questiojn - HOW DO I GET ALL THESE INTO ONE HEAD UNIT? from the looks I will not have enough ports to link them all?

I can't afford to mis-buy, I need to make the right choice first time.....

the MDI goes via the CD changer port, and yes, if you have the MDI interface, thats the loom you need.

Rear montors go via the Video port as does the rear camera

Fiscon kit - get the basic plus kit. Its much much better! This is an inline with the quadlock - dead easy to install

- MDI interface < ? What's the interface?

- So can I have rear monitors AND camera? or just one? or do I need an adaptor to splitt the port into two?
what would you advise best connector for rear screens?

- Fiscon - this one http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p1182_c315_FISCON-Bluetooth-Handsfree----Basic-Plus----VW--Skoda.html
