Unbelievable! Car comes back with more faults than it went with!

Hey folks, some of you know, for some bizarre reason, my AC when set to 'LO' didn't blow any air out, yet the motor still whirred away.
When set to 16 or higher it worked!

Anyway it worked fine BEFORE the insurance company repaired the front and replaced a few AC bits in December, as it was April by time I used the AC I didn't notice the fault until a month ago.

I quickly called the insurance company, who collected the car to fix under their 'warranty'

So, a Corsa as a courtesy car, and having to wait a MONTH before they fixed it (they had to take it to the local VW to them in Ipswich).

After many calls, and supposed new parts, it was finally fixed with what they described as a 'software update'... Hmmm quite what that means other than a load of nonsense is anyones guess.



Anyhow, this morning, I get my Golf back, straight away, airbag light is on, I have had enough of the Corsa so thought fair enough, I have VCDS and will clear the fault code tonight.
So tonight's come... Plug cable in...

back again

Driver side airbag connector, I check it, and find it doesn't clip into place! And I can't get it to either! Unbelievable, im not going to waste any more of my time trying to sort it, it's going back to them tommorow.


Just to take the biscuit, I scanned for faults, and found;

1 Fault found
6 - Air Recirculation flap positioning motor (V113)

000 - -



Cleared it, it came back, cleared it, came back! Idiots they obviously haven't fixed something properly, as far as im concerned, until my VCDS scan shows ZERO faults, like it did BEFORE it went to them, I won't be happy, im not being unreasonable to expect that am I?

I also found a few faults like rain sensor etc, but cleared those and they didn't come back.


I refuse for them to take it to that same VW garage, and I also refuse to have a Corsa 1.2 again, i'll see if they can do something as it's bang out of order, not to mention dangerous allowing me to drive with no airbags working!

You need that air con working as soon as possible to cool you down.    I also would ask for another garage to do the work.

tell the isurance company you want it to go to a main delaer to get sorted out. see if you can speak directly with the engineer. they actually might know what your talking about. and also say you want a like for like coutesy car too..

Hi guys, yeah I have complained to the insurance company, and have complained to the accident repairers (left message via voicemail and will follow it with a call tommorow morning) it's not like I had a cheap excess (£500!) my only worry is as it's the same day it's unlikely they will have a courtesy car available but I can try.

The mind boggles though, no wonder 95% of us on here cringe when our cars are in the garage, the question really needs to be asked if half the people know what they are doing!

Hire a car and bill them for it if there is no courtesy car its there fault so you shouldn't lose out mate,

Is the garage VW approved repairer?.. When ever you are hit my a 3rd party. Always go through non fault i.e drive assist or some kind of accident managment company... That way you dont have to pay your excess.. a like for like car and they deal with all the hassle for you... never be bullied by your insurance company as to what repairer you have to go to as they only send you there as its cheaper for them..
