It's like history repeating itself, same thing happens with each 'anni' imo...

MK4... Initially received a lukewarm reception due to it 'only being a GTi with a bodykit and fancy rims blah blah blah'... then everyone realises it has a ko3s, the added extras are a bargain and all of a sudden the 'scene' can't get enough...

MK5... Again the same lukewarm reception and a huge number of forum banter about it being a letdown, 'just a GTi with a bodykit and some boring grey BBS rims, 230Bhp is a joke in the current hot hatch market blah blah blah'... then everyone wakes up to the fact it has a Ko4 and the extra kit is actually a bargain and all of a sudden its the darling of the scene again and hugely popular...

MK6... Same is happening all over again... my 2p worth... Give it a year and people will be trading in their grandparents for one...
Well said :congrats:

Theres also reference to the ED35 on ETKA, can somebody with an updated version have a look at the turbo?

What else than an K04 do you expect on a EA113 with 235 HP?

So basically a 2WD R then - mechanics wise, give or take a few bits of course.

Hell of a lot more car than the normal GTI everyone's whinging on it's "the same as but £x,xxx more expensive".

I reckon, as has happened in the last 2 incarnations, the sum of the extra kit alone will be more than the above premium and then you're getting a K04 lump on top.
Sideways yo!

Picture of the optional DSG stick shows the magnetic suspension button, could that be standard kit like it is on a rocco GT that would warrant an fairly solid increase in price.

5Dr Black GTI, DSG, Leather, Xenons. Retrofitted - Cruise, RNS 510, MFSW, Armrest, Skoda BT, 6cd changer, Monza II's, VW speaker upgrade kit, Lux pack, High-line, new CAN gateway, Polar FIS info display, R32 tinted rear lights, RVC

To Come...NQSBBK, highline CCM.

Having done a quick check of the specs from various brochures; the GTI EA888 engine produces around 170 g/km of CO2. So you'd expect a lightly tuned EA888 to produce slightly more than that but much less than the R.
Not so.
The ED35 is just under 190 g/km which is almost identical to its very close family relative: The Leon Cupra and Cupra R both put out 190 g/km. And we all know the Leon Cupra has the EA113 K04 unit.

not a lot of options there...... for those of us that dont speak or read german whats the rough translation?  :rolleye:

I think it roughly translates into 'buy me and remap me to 300bhp'

Guess these options are just the things differing to standard Golfs.

Rough translation:

Microfiber hex interior:  + 900,-- €

19" wheels:  + 600,-- €

So thats an alcantara seat option and a leather seat option and 19" wheels.

The latest Leon has a alcantara option now too, red/black or white/black - looks nice.
