Gti lower bumper valance colour coding
« on: April 03, 2011, 04:36:21 pm »
Hi people,

Had my gti a couple of months now and think it's time to play with it a little. I'd like to have the front and rear valances colour coded. Wasn't sure how much this ended up costing people and if you had to leave the car with the body shop or if they just took the plastic trim off. Also some people have mentioned the vortex and ed30 front solitudes, wasn't sure what these look like in comparisson with the standard ones which I think I have.

Would love it if people could put up any pics if they've had theirs done, especially silver ;) front and rear photos appreciated! Also do people tend to have the skirts sprayed too?

Thanks in advance!

I have had the colour coding done on mine, left the car with the shop for a few days whilst they did it.

Side skirts painted:

Standard splitter colour coded.

Edition 30 splitter coded:

Rear bumper coded:

You mind me asking what kind of prices I would be looking at?  And does everyone tend to get the skirts painted at the same time? or just leave them alone?

I paid £300 for the skirts, bumper and splitter, had it all done in one go to get the best colour match, otherwise you could end up with different shades of silver.

Sorry for semi-hijacking. Does anyone know if this would cost much as I love the look of the red/black front splitter...http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,26505.0.html

About £100 for the splitter, then just buy some red vinyl and wrap it yourself.
