Still think it's a shame VW didn't make a Haldex 2.0T like Audi did.

Ehh? Golf R?

Is this not a site specific to mk5s?

Even with a mere 230bhp its sometimes a struggle to get the power down, 99% of the remapping malarkey is just willy waving!

You need a WALK

Already got one mate!  :happy2:

Get your car remapped mate, then go back to standard and say the same.. No offence, but that's a ridiculous comment IMO..

I agree to an extent, as i had my old car remapped and the difference was night and day. However at present, getting power down out of corners is a bit of an issue sometimes... getting a map will only make that worse. To say my comment is ridiculous is ridiculous  :signLOL: .. I'm just coming from the logical side of the argument.

Which is why you need handling mods to help put down that power. As well as some skill  :driver:

(not that I have any).

am sure with a diff the 300-330bhp is manageable, but at stage 2+ on an ED30 if the flywheel figures are around 360-370 bhp what are the typical transmission losses?

The average front wheel drive road car  loses about 15% of the engine bhp as transmission losses.

bacilus's ar is either a freak of nature or hes telling fibbs about his mods as it always mega outperforms all the other stage 2+ cars at rolling road days

As said you will be able to hit 300hp or there abouts with water methanol injection but you would need the map to be custom tuned to utilise the higher octance effect  that it gives, otherwise its just intercooling the inlet charge further.

The alternate method is to add nitrous like hurdy did.  you would only need the smallest nozzle for 25hp to make the 300hp.

He did however irradiate his ECU with that green sh1t David Banner used on himself to turn himself into the Hulk, in fact everybody was that jealous they were going to shop him to the NHS for inappropriate use of the hospital radiology department.....

Leave us 2 headed radiation workers out of it, I cant even remove a stone chip despite my radiation badge

Mmmmm 300bhp from a standard ko3 !!!!, if that is the case he is defintootly running something differant from any of the normal aftermarket modifictions that the other gtis are running on here ! wheather its some mad aggresive mapping on race fuel who knows ?

My car had pretty much all the bolt ons and made 277 bhp on the rollers thats Remap, Intake, HPFP, discharge pipe, Turbo back exhaust and intercooler, The car was very quick at that !!

Some figures i was putting down on the manual was 0-60 in 5.3 secs and a 14 dead 1/4 mile although i defo could of improved on 1/4 mile time although i reccon the 0-60 was as good as it was going to get, the best power mod out side of the remap was the exhaust  :happy2:

5.3 seems mighty fine  :congrats: but i thought the focus rs with its quaife diff and 300bhp out of factory only managed that in about 5.9

0-62 time is more about torque than power, if the RS has it all peaking at the top end rather than a nice flat spread then it might struggle no matter the fancy front suspension, 0-100 might be a different story.  isn't the 300 hp figure quite often missed by the RS as well with most making around Gobble please figure when rolled.
