Wife and i just spent our wedding anniversary in Devon at this place:

We hired a Honeymoon Scandinavian Lodge. Was lovely. :)

That place is not far from me and I have to agree it is really nice there. My sister in law used to go there for Christmas on a 'get away from it all' break and we visited her there a few times. Very cosy and relaxing with Exeter, Torbay and Dartmoor very nearby.

Still reckon New York is better though! On a short trip where you don't want lots of hussle and bustle you can stay down the bottom end of Manhattan, there are lovely flat walks along the sea shore, free ferry ride to see the skyscrapers from their best angle a they appear to rise out of the sea. Brooklyn Bridge is a nice walk and has one of the best views of Manhattan for taking photos. Those two things are free to do.
Chinatown and Little Italy are very close to this area too, so dining is taken care of very cheaply and you can jump on the Subway to see the lights of Central Manhattan by night.

I went to Bavaria last year for 2 weeks.  Stayed in Garmisch Partenkirchen.  Beautiful location.  Surrounded by mountains that make good routes for a days walking,

the whole area is geared towards outside activities.  We did all sorts from rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, white water rafting (hours drive into austria for that) and a two day hike up to the peak of Mt Zugspitz staying off at a lodge halfway up.

Great place and ill 100% be going back there again.  .  theres also a mountain called Mt Wank which is always good for a photo

I had 6 days in Prague last July , brilliant place - if you are there on a Thursday , there is a tour that runs from Prague to the Skoda Factory and Museum at Mlada Boleslav , well worth a day out! If you can , check out Kutna Hora , Cesky Krumlov and Karlovy Vary as well , tours to all these places are sold from Kiosks on one of the main streets , Na Prikope , just off Wencleslas Sq. PS Dont drink in the British or Irish pubs , they are twice the price of the smaller local places.

Walked the entire city and parks. It was done on the cheap so didnt really get chance to do any tours or visits. Seemed to be plenty to do though, lots of tourist information available on the streets and at the hotels.

Had a nightstop in Palma Majorca last week, managed to fall asleep in the sun and burn myself but the evenings were mild and shirtsleeveable.

Some stunning non chavvy parts of the island and some good hotels.

Try a short break in Puerto Polensa on the East side of the island, just beautiful....get a car and have a drive around, theres some 5000 foot hills to the north its like the Lake District in July most days!!!! Great for a drive and a walk.

Fourth busiest airport in the EU so well served from all major UK Airports

Thanks Dave, looked at this place tonight and looks ideal, will check for a good deal tomorrow :happy2:
