eBay bog brush
« on: April 06, 2011, 07:58:14 pm »
Is there a recommendation for brushes for the alloys?

Nothing to harsh but not too soft, and long enough to reach the inner dish yet narrow to get between the spokes, where would I buy such an item?

I'm not a pro detailer so don't want to spend a weeks wages on it, but happy to spend the right amount on the right thing

What are people using and how do you rate it?

Many thanks

^^^I have the full version of the same brush. I use a mild cleaner like bilberry wheel cleaner. Once cleaned, you can use a clay bar to make sure there are no contaminents and then seal with a wheel sealant. That way, you don't need to keep brushing them.

I have both the large and small EZ Detail brushes. Wouldn't be without them now and wear reasonably well.
I think Vikan also make some nifty brushes - try googling them.

Wheel sealant - wax?
High temp sealant used for alloys. Can also be called wheel wax eg poorboy's wheel sealant. As I mentioned, if you apply it after cleaning the wheels, you won't have to keep using brushes and cleaners to clean them - just use a pressure washer .

Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109 is supposed to be a decent wheel sealant :happy2:
