New oem 'G' Diverter Valve fitted
« on: March 05, 2009, 11:53:52 am »
morning all,

had a few bits put on the car at jkm on monday good service as always   :drinking:

was always a bit worried that my diverter valve would go at some point with the mods i had done and noticed that the new oem revised edition dv was out and for £38 I thought you cant go wrong so had it fitted

looks alot more purposeful than the original one so fingers crossed should hold up and fitting takes no more than 1/2 hour.

Is difficult to tell if there is any difference with it on as I had the apr fuel pump fitted at the same which has been more noticeable  :rolleye:

a cheaper option than the forge and it is of course a official VAG prouduct so for those worried about warranties is probably the best option, and is a must if you are mapping a standard gti with the dv valve next to the turbo, but if you want to fit a boost gauge then you will need the forge dv.

it fits the mk5 gti/ed30/a3/s3/cupra etc not sure about the new tsi though..

fitted nicely on my car too

just going by what i was told - it replaces the diaphram which was prone to breaking and causing boost problems.

If you read this post http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=104575.0 you will notice I went for the g revision rather than the new D version.  Basically it seems if it fits its lucky as its designed for a totally different engine.

The D revision is also listed as being a replacement part for BWA engines.

Off topic a bit i know but bet the APR FP made a massive difference in mid range kick?  :happy2:
What the cost of the APR unit and fitting?

so far the pump has had an improvement in the mid-range, not massively but I have yet to have the new remap which makes the most of the pump (ie revo stage 2+). I am at Superchips this friday for this to be done, they should be able to turn the fuel pressure settings to 130bar which is what the apr pump can handle, once this has been done the benefits of the pump should be clearer

I went for the new apr fuel pump, not the exchange so I can revert the car and sell the apr pump when i get rid of the car in the future, cost of this is around £700 and £50 for fitting and testing.
