What year is your car?

Your battery will drain if you have a can gateway older then a version K.
Diamond Black 2007 (56) Golf GTI 3Dr DSG ¦ 18" Monza II's ¦ Cruise control ¦ MFSW ¦ Highline ¦ Rear parking sensors ¦ PDT Stage 1 ¦ Forge Twintake ¦ H&R Sport Springs ¦ NQSBBK ¦ R32 Rear bumper ¦ BCS Powervalve Sports R32 style TBE ¦ Valeo LED Rear Lights ¦ Xenon lights with HID kit ¦ DNX521DAB ¦ 12mm Spacers all round ¦

They are probably refering to battery drain issue ......

You could run C version on a modified firmware or change the can gateway to solve the drain issue.

Although a B version on a newer firmware will still give you drain.

So in short its not the 'version' thats the issue, its the firmware on the unit.

You should be ok 2008 58 SHOULD have an L gateway so you SHOULD be ok.

You cannot be 100% sure though so you need a VCDS scan.

Later K gateways onwards won't give you the battery drain with any unit running any firmware  :happy2:

I have a 2007 57 plate ED30 and it comes with an L-version can gateway.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
