I dont often get chance to nail my car but after having the valve spring float CEL issue after Revo Stg1 I occasionally "red line" the car to see if the engine light comes on - all good so far.
On my old MK 3 Gti if you red lined it you could tell that the engine was most displeased with you for giving it such stick but with the MK 5 it is almost "gentle" and the limiter kicks in to tell you to change up a gear. Is the engine designed to rev so highly without any damage providing you are not going it from cold or is it technically still best to change up after say 5500 rpm as the peak power/torque curve will have been delivered by that point?
