My now ancient marin wolfridge built from scratch

And a pic of my two toys together ;)

Spec:
06 marin wolfridge
Fox suspension
XTR Drivetrain
Hope Brakes
Stans flow rims on hope pro 2 hubs

Both the car and the bike suck my wallet dry every month!

Is that TLDs new enduro lid Matt?

Cannock you can do the whole of follow the dog and the monkey trail in one probably take about 2 hours unless your stopping for breaks quite frequently?

There is also Stile cop at the lower cliff just over the train tracks, but best to get in car and go down to the other car park. Stile cop is more DH free ride stuff so is more of the bigger jumps drop offs and techy descents it's a good day out if your confident on your bike.

Had a great weekend at Cannock... Wet on the Friday but Saturday was spot on!  Lower cliff is a real surprise but a great little downhill... Would b better still if I knew the track

Old Orange P7 Hardtail:

XTR group / Fox Float 32 / Superstar Pedals+Grips / Hope headset / Avid BB7 160r/208f / Mavic XM719 with Nukeproof Gen Hubs / Nobby Nic Evo Tyres

Getting back into it a little bit, but want something lighter, just tried a Santa Cruz Superlight; lovely bike, much lighter than the Orange and Full Suspension too.

Any other suggestions? Perhaps a Giant Anthem? Don't really want the expense of Carbon but Aluminum over steel I think... just XC.

wow some awesome rides there, esp. like the FatBoy - you ridden it in the snow?

I'd like a lightweight XC bike, any recommendations?, I'd like to get as close to 20lb as possible, my Orange (above) is closer to 30lb --- The Scott Scale ( @col - is that a Scott Scale in your pic, what's the weight? How do you find it?)

The weight is not set in stone, just want it to be noticeably lighter than the Orange;  Santa Cruz Superlight is noticebaly lighter too, think that was around the 24lb mark..?

Went BPW couple of weekends ago. first long trip for the golf - from Hertfordshire.

No sadly never had any snow just hard frost which is typical as every year for as long as I can remeber we've had some  Fingers crossed for this winter.
That said I have made use of it in the mud and it's great, rarely loses traction and has tonnes of grip downhill too, it feels very surefooted and rolls over roots etc like they are'nt there
