Advice Please MK5 GTI
« on: June 03, 2011, 10:36:53 pm »
Hi All,

Possibly going to look at a car tomorrow at an independent dealers and am in need of a valuation i guess.

Specs:

VOLKSWAGEN 57 Plate Golf 2.0 GTI DSG Grey Paddles
3 Door
44,000 Miles Full main dealer service history
Cloth interior
Xeons, heated seats etc all the usual refinements

The car is on with 6 month warranty at £12,495 how does this price compare?

The car does look very clean..... It does not have the MSFW controls or satnav etc which I would like however we cant have it all.

Let me know your thoughts. :happy2:

Cheers
Sam

should be higher spec for that price... or as mentioned not far off ED30 prices... we had a 05 plate full spec, dsg, leather, sat nav winter/lux pack 18 monzas about a year ago just under 11k had a look at some ED30's that were 14k just too rich for us at the time

Yep I've seen a few at that price so that GTI is overpriced

I do agree with the above.  :signLOL:

What sort of money is the car worth then?

I understand that the dealer has a business to run however I do not want to pay over the odds.

^^ Hrmmm......... I'm not sure I would have to check however I cant imagine its even worth going to the dealer and asking him to drop £1000 plus of the price really.

The price sounds right, considering it is a 57 plate with reasonable spec. Go in at £11,700 and aim to deal at £12k with the warranty.
