Air Freshner
« on: April 12, 2011, 05:58:53 pm »
Do our GTI's come with a built in air freshner.
On the way home today I noticed a "Air Freshner" Smell on and off all the way home.
First time I have noticed this since owning the car (8 months and 3,600 miles) .
The smell was at different periods on the way home so it wasn't a smell outside.
I have heard of pollen filters do you think this could have been the smell due to the warm weather.
No "shop bought air freshner" in the car by the way!!!!!

I think you'll find it's the grease they use. I noticed the same perfume smell. Lift the armrest and you can see the grease on the hinges give it a sniff and it should smell the same.
