Oldy's Jetta mk5 Sport
« on: April 12, 2011, 06:53:08 pm »
Hi guys,

Its my first post on here after stumbling on the site a few months back. I'm normally on uk mkivs but seeing as I have a  mkv now it was  time for a change.

After selling my MK4 Bora before the end of the year I went out and got a silver 140 sport MK5 Jetta.

Monies have been tight over the past few months so not many mods but slowly getting there.

Girlfriend got me a set of raceland coilovers for crimbo so got them fitted. Fronts are currently all the way down and rears have a good 10 threads left. All round it needs to be lower though.

Just fitted a set of BBS LM reps 18x8 and 18x9 rears wrapped in falken FKs 215/40/18

Pioneer AVH-3300BT double din head unit

Ill let the pictures do the talking now

and my old mk4

also im still after a silver golf GTI front end if anyone wants a swap with my front end

You'll only need to change the grills. The Jetta front bumper is the same as the GTI and GT. Well i believe anyway, someone correct me if im wrong!

Looks nice mate.
Think that you could get away with 19's on that easily, Even with it lowered it still looks like it can go down a good distance, but IMO a better way to fill the gap is with bigger wheels, (less chance of damaging the underneath when driving then!)

Im thinking along the lines of LED devil eyes

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-VW-GOLF-GTI-TDI-LED-AUDI-R8-DEVIL-EYES-HEADLIGHTS-/380314059485?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item588c7c02dd
But i'm not sure if they will end up looking tacky like angel eyes look on non bmw's

The Jetta has a different bumper to the golf, looks the same but the fog grilles are moulded into the bumper at the top. You can see in Oldy's pics how it is longer at the top well this is recessed into the bumper.

Looking sweet by the way Oldy

cheers guys. I palsti dipped my front badge and was going to do the rest of the chrome grill but decided to leave it for a bit. Not sure what it needs really. I'm tempted to get a GTI grill and lower middle and plasti dip that.
