Just wondering what you guys would recommend.

Not looking to get the tooth brush out, but removal of dust and general clean of the engine covers, plastics etc.

WD40 and a cloth.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

You serious?

Thought it would attract dust to stick to it?

I just use a brush like this http://www.envyvaleting.co.uk/products_info.asp?id=151  just a cheap one though from a art shop.
Every fourth wash of the car with some, autoglym usual car shampoo, this doesnt soap up as much . then rinse with water using the same brush, then dry off carefully with cheapo micro fibre cloths.
If you want to put products on after that for the plastics then i would say use your favourite plastic trim stuff.  :happy2:

any all purpose cleaner to take off the rubbish...

i use either Meguiars Super Degreaser or Megs All Purpose cleaner.

Cut 1:4. spray it on, leave it for 5 mins or so. Then clean all the areas off you can carefully with a good brush and a microfibre wash mitt.

then rinse off. let it dry for 20 mins or so.

then something like 303 aerospace protectant will do the trick for dressing.

spray it on, leave for 5 mins and then wipe completely dry with a microfibre! ;)
