Tardis or clay

It seems to me from reading detailing threads that these do a similar job, removal of tar etc. What do people favour? I've uses clay but the tardis seems popular.

Claying realistically slices off top of the tar, so you can have some left behind. Claying is probably fine for very light/superficial tar spots.

Tardis is supposed to dissolve the tar spots and shift it completely.

I'd recommend using tardis and would use it before claying the car. Am not sure but I think claying would also rub the tar over the paintwork, which is not something you want.

Hope you have some brushes to clean the wheels with!

EZ wheel brushes are great for getting behind the face.
Raceglaze/envy/swissvax style brushes are great for the face, and for other bits like trim, panel gaps etc.

i have a long ish one to get to the insides thens a small autoglym one for working the corners,

much easier to take the wheel off to clean it!

could do with a wheel sealant though...


Does anyone know of a single website that sells Tardis and Bilberry as i dont want to pay double postage  :ashamed:

I tend to get my stuff from elitecarcare but they have only the 5litre stuff in stock.

Its worth getting the 5 litres and a spray bottle as you will go through loads in a year.  The stuff lasts forever too.

I tardis first then clay.  If you clay first then it just covers the clay in tar.
