Revo trial remap
« on: April 18, 2011, 09:15:51 pm »
Does anybody know whether Revo would still give u a 1 week trial period if you already had a different map but wanted to try theirs?  :surprised:

I asked one of the lads at Awesome Gti this exact question just the other week.

They said that they no longer offer it as it was only 80% of the output compared to the proper map.

I suppose it probably wasn't representative of the Stage 1 map.

I'm currently with AMD, and I just wanted to feel the difference of a Revo map Without spending the full whack  :scared:
I'm not sure what I currently have at the moment regarding stages.
I have a Milltek full TBE a HPFP and a piper cross intake, twintercooler on order........what stage would that make?  :driver:

I dont think you need to tbh, AMDs map might not make the ulitmate power, or it might, but look at the grqaphs below from the same RR day.

well this was Roberts AMD stage 2 with TBE and stock air intake

and this is Robins stage 2 with TBE and twintake

robins holds torque for a little longer, makes a little more power earlier and a bit longer, but he has the twintake.  If you were to add the twintake to roberts AMD stage 2 he'd have brone 260hp easily i think

what im trying to say is they are so similar that it'd be a waste of money IMO.

I changed from Bluefin to shark purly as the map ihad from bluefin wasnt very good and suffered big issues with its power delivery and ultimate power.  From what ive seen the AMD isnt like that at all.

Roberts car at stage 1 made 7hp more than my shark stage 1 at the AMD RR day.  Not an independant dyno but still its a good map, with good smooth curves

that would make you stage 2+ with all the mods you stated above.

I had a car in recently on an AMD stg2, with a bit of investigation it was a Revo stg2.

Borrow a revo switch and you might find it works
