MFSW retrofit
« on: April 20, 2011, 12:24:28 am »
Went to see a Pirelli today, it didn't have a MFSW, which I would like.
Does anyone know what's involved and appx cost of getting one retrofit?

If it's a DSG then it should have the wiring already in place, so all you would need to buy are the buttons.

Providing it is a DSG then the buttons should be a reasonable easy retro fit, however i've no idea how to source the buttons.

I think some people have found them on german ebay, but they can be expensive.

If this is found out then i may be able to widen my search for th eright ED30/Pirelli

The easiest way to source the buttons is to purchase a standard golf MFSW.

These can be had for around £70.

I know EddieNL has just sold one on the forum.....

Is there a fitting guide around for just the buttons (not replacing the wheel)?

Thanks for the answers guys.

May see if the dealer will provide some buttons and fit for me as a deal clincher as it already has DSG.

If you don't ask....

The buttons are very expensive from the dealer so they will likely tell you its £200 just for the parts think last check showed £130 per side for the buttons!  They might do it if they want you to have the car just make sure they put the right type in as they changed half way through the MK5's life.
