The new ride - Porsche 911 TT
« on: April 20, 2011, 02:31:31 pm »
Ok so the k1 was great, 370ish bhp on the front wheels, very very quick car for what it was and i miss it dearly after owning it since new but time came for a change.

Its a Porsche 911 (996) Twin turbo.

The day I got it I went straight to nineexcellence a Porsche tuning specialist and had it mapped and an exhaust system, its about 500 BPH for now... but soon to be more.

Few snaps when I got it :

Then I had a full service on it for piece of mind, which came to about £900.. ouch.

I didn't like the silver so went to get it wrapped by chris @ surrey vinyl wraps.

I choose a nice blue colour and the wheels/roof/spoiler/mirror done in matte black

New pics :

Future plans

Uprated 5bar fuel pump, 650ish injectors, hybrid k16 turbos, air intake, oversized plenum, new boost piping, race manifold, new intercoolers, kevlar clutch etc... should be good for about 600 WHP or over 660 bhp without breaking a sweat.

That is all. thanks for reading.

Something very wrong about this car and something very right about it? Where you are going with the tuning is tremendous! What an engine. Get it to inters!  :happy2:

Course mate, ive been at inters for last 4 years in my cars , so ill defo be there.

Im surprised how easy they tune, there are loads of "bolt on" mod which just add power...

3.6 twin turbo, sounds lovely on full wot

I think the colour would look ok with decent pics, all of them are really poor, even the one with the pro tag at the bottom is really crap.  :chicken:
I bet it goes like stink though.  :congrats:

Is it an X50 model?  These tune better than the normal turbo as they have stronger internals - think of it as the ED30 version of the Turbo :happy2:

In 2000, Porsche debuted the 996 Turbo, equipped with four-wheel-drive and a 3.6 litre, twin turbocharged and intercooled flat-six producing 420 bhp (309 kW), making the car capable of 4.2 second 0 to 60 mph times. An X50 option which included larger turbochargers and intercoolers along with revised engine control software became available from the factory in 2002, increasing power to 450 hp (336 kW). Porsche produced a Turbo S in 2005, which was equipped with the 489 bhp unit also seen in the 996 GT2, alongside the formerly optional Carbon fibre-reinforced Silicon Carbide (C/SiC) composite ceramic brakes (PCCB) as standard equipment.
Golf R gone.

it has the x50 upgraded inter-coolers but the k16 turbos which spool better than the k24s with the x50 package.

So much tune-ability its unreal, plenty of "bolt on" upgrades to feed my power craze
