Aircon leak
« on: April 20, 2011, 03:41:51 pm »
First hot day in a while has confirmed what I thought; my aircon is empty. I had it recharged last year but it's blowing out external temp air now, making me suspect a leak somewhere.

Is there any way I can definitively test that it's not the compressor and if (as hoped) it's a leak, how big a job is this to sort? Having just lashed out on big service, belt, plugs, the lot, am thinking of cashing in my Tesco vouchers for Halfords Autocentre tokens (£10 becomes £30!!); is this sensible - is it a job they can likely do?

cheers

Clum

You need to go and get a re gas, but get them to place a dye in the gas !

This will show exactly where the leak is, or if it is a compressor !

anywhere with half decent regas kit can do this for you and will confirm leak or not !
