Fuel leak from filter
« on: April 26, 2011, 09:31:21 pm »
Since having my car serviced by a mechanic I use I've had 3 petrol leaks from the fuel filter at the connection towards the front of the car. For some reason it keeps unclipping. It was fine before the service when the fuel filter was changed and I haven't had any problems with anything in over a year of ownership. Any ideas? Only thing I'm wondering is that I have the wrong part. Engine is an AXX one.

Was it a genuine fuel filter used?

Yes. Also, the last 2 leaks have been following me pulling up at the bottom of my drive, selecting reverse then reversing back up the drive. Not sure if there's a link but tonight there was no trail, just a small puddle once parked. Last week there was a trail up the drive from the point where I began reversing. Hmm odd

Interesting.

Perhaps he damaged the connection when he swapped the filter over?

Possibly, it leaked the first evening I had it back, then was fine for 5 weeks and has now done it twice in 8 days. I need the car working reliably for a new job starting in a few weeks time  :fighting:
