rs4 fuel valve done
« on: April 24, 2011, 11:07:08 am »
Well thats a job i wouldnt want to repeat in a hurry. What an arse of a job. In the end i had the fuel pump lines off from the fuel pump to give enough room to get the 17mm socket in the gap. Once i had then out the way the actual valve took seconds to change. Took about one and a half hours to do but well worth the effort. The jingling noise alot of people have complained about including me has completely gone now.

Would it required having my logs looked at and revo adjusted. I didntt think it would but if anyone knows for sure that would be great to know.

Oh and happy easter everyone!

As one of the reasons for changing is fuel rail pressure not meeting requested levels, meaning it won't reach the level requested by your map then your map shoudn't need changing.   :happy2:

Over the top mod list ;o)

yeh santa was visiting early and got stuck in there lol. Only seems to be people running stage 2+ that have it and was a concern as it sounded like the turbo bearings were going as on spool up this jingling was heard. never affected the performance just annoying and concerning to some.

Did you or have you got the flat spot issue. Any change in the way it drives now?

If you get it from Audi you'll be paying a little over £36...

yeh the part was around the £38 mark i think  and if you do a search you will find the part number but i will find the reciept if you cant. I did have slight flat spot problem but mine was intermittant which was strange but so far so good. No more flat spots but not driven the car much since it was done. will do an update after another week. I couldnt find a how to guide and just removed things as required while completing the change.

My flat spot issue started as intermittent. What other mods have you got?

I fitted the valve to my Octavia a few months ago.. I got the part from my local Audi dealer but BDM Alex also sells these:  http://www.backdraftmotorsport.com/shop-vag-2.0tfsi/high-flow-fuel-return-valve/flypage.tpl.html

There is a bit more detail of fitting etc here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,21989.0.html

is the part from BDM actually the RS4 valve or a aftermarket copy?
