madness purchase
« on: April 25, 2011, 11:15:22 am »
adopted aunti has pestered hubby to get rid so in a moment of madness i agreed to take it off his hands.
a long term project and i will update it as we do the work and ill fill in the whats been done and what it needs later once ive actually been around it and he tells me what work its had and what work it needs.
the engine runs but needs new alternator/starter motor and the timing adjusted.

as you are all VERY aware i,m the forum numpty so a lot of work will be bought "not built"
but ill be gettin "unca" sid to teach me some welding basics and i,m going to use this to learn some basic mechanics also...methinks ill be needing them lol

if anyone wants to chime in and help me out with diy tips and stuff like sources  please do....(if ok with mods as its not a mk5 :ashamed:)
i,m not sure this was good idea hahahahah
the mk5 is going to have a new look by summer and then it will be"finished" (yeah right)and ill concentrate all my funds and efforts into the bus for the next year....ish

I know I'll probably get shot down for this but I reckon you should make the front look similar to a GTI - red stripe, honeycomb grilles etc. Would probably only work if it was in black.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
