Quote from: Wired
Sony thinks an “unauthorized person” now has access to all PlayStation Network account information and passwords, and may have obtained users’ credit card numbers.

The PlayStation maker said it believes hackers now have access to customers’ vital information, including names, birthdates, physical and e-mail addresses, and PlayStation Network/Qriocity passwords, logins, handles and online IDs.

Credit card information, purchase histories and other profile data stored on the PlayStation Network servers also could be compromised, the Japanese company said in a lengthy blog post Tuesday afternoon.

My advice to anyone that has used a credit card on the pSN store woul dbe to get in touch with your card holder, cancel the current card and get it re-issued due to the breach. It's just not worth the risk and additional hassle of having claims to then deal with.

They shouldn't have been. Did you use the same email address as for PSN for those two things?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I'd be surprised if anyone maliciously used the info, my thoughts are it's George Hotz' group of followers making a bit of a statement.

Now that would be a good way to tell Sony to pack it in lol.

Have you not seen Geohots statement on the problem.

http://geohotgotsued.blogspot.com/2011/04/recent-news.html

Looks very likely that Sony made the mistake believing that the link between the server and the PS3 was secure and and didn't put any security in  :surprised:

Good read that.

I still can't help thinking that they were targeted by a team who were narked at his treatment by Sony.
