Tyre help required.

I have just discovered the inner tread of my rear tyres is slicker than a slick thing, first thoughts are alignment issues as it was never checked when I had new lowered springs fitted, or perhaps tracking. Anyway I plan I getting this looked at when the new tyres go on.

The reason for help is in chosing the new rubber, I fitted Hankooks EVO II on the front about 2 months ago and so far I am very happy with them, however the rears will have to be from a more budget range due to an unexpected £700 bill from the vets!!! 

Contenders currently are Nankang SP2 or Kumho KU37's both have reasonable reviews from Joe public and are around the 65-70 quid mark fitted. But I open to thoughts or ideas, size required is 225/40 R18.

Nangkang is crap. 

Go for the Kumhos if you can't afford something better.

No mistake, it was meant to be done with fitment, but I have since found out it wasn't....not happy with news.  Tbh, rather than fitting something inferior, I may just chuck on my winter wheels which currently have summer conti's all round (with 6mm of tread) as a stop gap!  
The only problem there is they look..............

I'd ever prefer 16" Contis to 19" Nangkangs. 

Looks isn't any substitute for safety.

Ok, so I think we've established that the Nangkang are carp, still considering the Kumho's, just found them for £120 a pair delivered, my local mechanic will fit both for 15!

I always ran Kumho's on my old Mondeo ST. Had loads of grip, but never lasted all that long for me. Now run CSC3s, which are nearly double the price. As above though, I'd always go with a good tyre for safety if nothing else!
