Condensation in spare wheel well.
« on: July 22, 2010, 06:38:27 pm »
Lifted the boot carpet out today and was met with a wet spare wheel and condensation all round the inside of the wheel well.It had been there for some time as there were small pools of water where the grommets are.
The underside of the carpet, where it meets the tyre, was also fairly damp.
Dunno if it's because of the warm weather or if it's something else, but if I hadn't have lifted the carpet out,I would never have known.
Anyone else have this problem?

No.
All standard.
I also noticed a wee bit of condensation on the inside of the reversing light, the one set into the bootlid, after giving it a wash.Could be a design flaw-not enough air circulating in the boot area maybe?

I'm sure you've got this sorted by now but mine was exactly the same. It was the vent behind the bumper that was leaking into the boot area. You can see it below the light cluster if you pull back the carpet. Only £9 each from stealers but £90/hr labour !!!

My rear wiper water hose had become detached and everytime I used the washer water sprayed over the boot - took me ages to figure that one out!  :signLOL:
