« on: April 26, 2011, 01:59:07 pm »
I get the following error messages when trying to upgrade the firmware on my rns, does anyone know what the problem is or what I should do differently? I've tried changing the clock. The errors are 010304 and 010306. Cheers guys

Thats a downgrade errors

will look like this

downgrade error (010304)
Target loaded with Media Version -4764901
Inserted Media Version -4764901

What were the two versions showing?

You normally have to use the SWL downgrade disc first or enable "enable software downgrade" in the secret menu to bypass this.

However, you say you are upgrading..

What is your current firmware version?
Is it an A B or C unit
What firmware are you attempting to load

Thanks, it's a version b and I'm trying to upgrade to the newest possible, I think it's 27... Iirc. I've got a new canbus so battery drain shouldn't be an issue. I'm only running 1100 firmware at the minute. Yes the error message looks like that, I can't remember what the numbers are though (they aren't the ones you've quoted there). So whats going on??? Cheers

What software are you using?

A modified 2760 or just a normal one?

If you are on 1100, youll need to go to 1300

2760 unless modified is for C units only (1300 is the same)

Alex that's not true.

You can go to 2760 from 1100 i have done it for a no. of people on A,B & C revsion devices. The only difference between 276X & 130X is that 130X does not support voice control and a few minor bug tweaks. Otherwise the firmware is the same.

Also 276X & 130X is for B & C revision units modified or not. Only 38XX firmware is for C only units

Right i'm not exactly sure, I think its 1300. Alexperkins has been very helpful and its the links he sent me. This is really frustrating me now, how hard can it be!

Download from this link which is 276X firmware. It should work fine

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JG148IV6

Burn that image to disc as slow as you can, verify the disc and then try it. It should then work fine.

The only thing i can think is happening is that the firmware may be corrupted somehow when your downloading which is why you are having a problem.

Are you using a CD or DVD?

Try a DVD then.

I know it sounds odd but i have come across some drives that are fussy and don't like CD's and some that don't like DVD's.

My apologies. Ive never been successful in getting 2760 on B units unless its the modified one  :ashamed:

Might be the build version I was using of the disc...goes to download a new one.

edit: appears I was using a non final build of 2760!
