Please be kind....exhaust question
« on: April 27, 2011, 05:27:44 pm »
Right the picture below is from the miltek website

Is the blue circle where the pre cat sits and the red the main cat?

Thinking about removing the pre cat as some have done here and possibly fitting a switchable pipe to replace the main cat...pre cat first probably...

Are my guesses correct?

Thanks

What picture john  :stupid:

The precat is directly after the join at the manifold end, the main cat is further down the pipe

Thats what some people have done yes

Pre-cat?

My Ed30 had no such thing.  Just the main cat.

Guess mine must have been missing, because i remember cleaning the insides out when sorting out an exhaust leak.

Guess some did and some didn't.

Exactly....it;s a ceramic lump that supposedly comes out with a hammer and chisel

Also ask a local exhaust specialist about making a switchable main cat/decat pipe...

Hopefully get a quote in a day or two.

This is next stage ona  slippery slope.....Map is running great, MPG is great.....just need to track down the loss of power in 4th...only happens in 4th and happened 3 times in 4 weeks...........intermittent issues are a pain in the ass.... :sad1:
