High Line display.

Not 100% if it's actually called that, but I'm referring to the trip computer in the centre of the instrument cluster.  On a Skoda the full screen type is called a maxidot display which gives you superior functions over the standard 'half' display. 
I just wanted to know if retro fitting a new dash pod with the full screen display was a viable option and what sort of cost for this item?

on a golf the superior display is called "highline"

the not so superior one is called "midline/lowline"

Don't think there's a "lowline" anymore. Just highline and midline.

New unit means the entire thing with clocks and display - £500 from dealers. Then you have to pay to get it installed (easy) and configured (difficult).

There's a guide to getting the right version since it depends on the serial number of your current one.

New Mk6 golfs have midline, Highline and Premium Highline Colour

There was one for the caddy van didn't even have a temperature gauge
