Armrest iPod/CD Changer - Head Unit?
« on: April 27, 2011, 10:34:27 am »
I have an iPod dock in my arm rest and no lead to my RNS 310 - Will this work

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-VW-CD-Changer-Unilink-data-Link-Bus-Lead-Cable-Min-/250777398558?pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP&hash=item3a637f6d1e

I know the iPod and CD Changer leads are the same but will it fit the rear of my RNS 310? Rear looks the same as the 510 bar the Reverse Camera/Screen output?

Thats not a quadlock connector on the end of that lead

Principally, thats the correct lead, but that wont work on the quadlock that goes into the HU

That plug is for older ISO headunits

Aghh bugger, so I'm looking for a 12pin to quadlock then? What he's claiming to be quadlock isn't actually it?

Sorry to double post, am I looking for the lead on the left of this picture?

If so how does that work :S Do I plug the big block from the back of my HU into this and then this and then bit at the bottom into my HU if that makes sense?

Cheers

No - thats an MDI adapter

If you have the iPod dock that functions like a CD changer its a different lead completely to the MDI one

Whats hes listing as a 'Quadlock' is actually known as 'Mini ISO'

Your looking for a lead very similar to the one on ebay, but it needs the blue end in this picture instead of the blue one on the ebay listing.
