Well , day has finally come for the arrival of our 2nd car in the family....... the Hyundai i10.
Well all i can say is, if your looking for a cheap means of motoring, then it really doesnt get much better for overall value for money..as you can see Mrs Saints expression says it all
The Car cost £7300 to purchase, or if you trade in an OLD car (not the GTi of course) its possible to purchase a lower spec'd i10 Classic for £6195...Not alot for a new car with a 5 year warranty.
The car has the Kappa 1.2 ltr engine, with VVTi valve technology for greater fuel effeciency, which also boasts a pulsaiting 85bhp...and eventually get to 60mph in 12.2 seconds
but after all, its really most suitable for town commuting/school runs or shorter journeys, which it does most admirably.
It has 6 airbags, (not including the wife's 2 extra when she's passenger
) and Euro Ncap 4 stars.
Its Capable of doing 62.1mpg, but im sure it wont get near that in the real world, but hoping to get nearer 50mpg to be a cost effective purchase and the decision to buy this car..
ok some more pics..
Inside, the interia is of a very good standard, considering its purchase price imo
it comes with an aux and usb input which works in conjuntion with an ipod, and displays full track lists names on the Radio
Room in the rear isnt an issue, this photo shows with the seats pushed back as far back for people in the front, as hopefully shows the minimum legroom remaining for rear passengers.
Boot space
I would say, will take 6 full shopping bags, and have room for stacking ontop....
and with added storage space underneath
Insurance group 2 or 11 on the new scale, typical quote fully comprehensive is around £250
Road tax for the 1st year is free, and from year 1 onwards is £20 for the whole year
Now im 6ft 3, and feel very comfortable behind the wheel, suspention is fairly smooth, engine is very quiet, and little road noise intrusion into the cabin, and has caught me out twice already thinking the engine was off at a standstill, when infact ,it was idleing!!. ( a tad different to the 2.0 tfsi clatter im used too!)
The radio, is a 6 speaker system, and sounds the same quality as my Rsn510 in the golf, very good indeed, and more then i was expecting.
Put in £25 of fuel today, to see the gauge raise to near the 3/4 mark!
So far clocked up 40 miles today, for the digital display to move only 1 notch!
It also like the mk6 GTi, give you selected gear change selection to help with your driving style..
Comes with air condioning as standard...
and has electric folding mirrors , and electric windows front and back...
All in all, an absolute Bargain car imo ,so if your in the hunt for a cheap car, on a small budget, with cheap running costs, then this might tick a box for you..
