R32 rear valance body kit (for GTI)
« on: April 27, 2011, 08:41:00 pm »
Has anyone bought one of these bumpers off ebay and fitted it? If so what's the finish and fitting like?

There is a German company that make these, not sure if this is the same company, but have heard that they are pretty good.
A member on here has one for sale in the sale thread, not sure if he'll seperate them, but could give you an idea of the quality if you ask him.

These look awesome on the GTI. I was looking at buying these a good few months ago now but the seller on eBay had run out.

Unfortunately now I've got some other priorities that need my money more so this will have to wait till later in the year  :sad1:

Isn't the one above a one piece ebay one? Sure I remember a few being sold with the bumper and exhaust notch being one piece made from fibreglass?

I bought one of these last night, ordered the reflectors from the dealers £27.49 for the pair and Im going to tint them.

Only reason I ordered was because its made of plastic and not cheap fibreglass

Thanks for your input guys, I too wanted to know whether it was in one or two piece as I was going to change the zorst at a later date for the milltek R32 conversion.

So my virtually new Milltek catback will be up for sale! :happy2:

Dan,

Keep us posted when it arrives i.e.: Quality wise.  Apparently they are shipped quite quickly.

A little update:

Quality wise the item is poor, not great fit, various sinkages/mould lines. The tow eye cover is a bit of poorly shaped fibreglass which you would need to bodge to fit, the wholw part is a very shiny black plastic and not textures as shown in ebay photo.

I emailed the company listing the above points and they offered a full refund including shipping and they would send a courier to pick parts up.

Anyway I did a bit of prep work on the bumper before taking it to the bodyshop and will be picking it up tomorrow so will post pics up.

I would of sent it back but had already bought genuine R32 reflectors and tinted them so couldnt take them back

I ended up buying a genuine R32 rear valance and Stock GTI exhaust trim (bought off here at a fantastic price).  Getting it sprayed next week will post photo's when done... Just hope this fits ok!

I have the R32 trim as well so may upgrade at a later date to the R32 Milltek zorst if I can sell my GTI Milltek catback.

....I think that the genuine OEM R32 rear (with separate exhaust trim) is the much better option. Not only is it well made to fit but also the cut-outs give total flexibility of exhaust configurations.

Ok, I got the car back from the bodyshop this morning where I had the car colour coded with the VW R32 rear valance and GTI exhaust trim together with a OSIR V4 lower lip

Here are some before and after shots.

A very good paint match they did there for you mate.
My R32 lower valance is off at the moment being smoothed and gloss black painted, wasn't too sure if I would like it, but now that I have seen yours I am a little more confident in it.

Much better and makes the car look more "grown up"!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
