yeah good point re ESP  :signLOL:

dumping clutch launching in 2nd gear?

1/4 mile is just a bit of fun really. no point getting too serious, unless your car is proper stripped out and you can afford to have it blow up lol.

I really wouldn't try doing it in 2nd gear, 1st is plenty to smoke them up.. Doing it in second will be a lot more stress on the clutch..

Given that I've never done a burnout, I'll probably stall the engine!

dont try a burnout of raw surface though or you'll lose your tyres faster than a fast thing on a fast day carrying a bag of fast things to give to captain fast

lubricate the surface with something like bleach  :happy2:

more importantly put it back into 1st gear if you overshoot the line after burn out.

there's been some funny moments when people have left it in reverse and "launched" it after the lights go green  :signLOL:

seen that at Crail once, the guy was mortified.
I never bother with the burnout as the stress of belting down the 1/4 strip is enough for the engine and all the important bits to worry about. I calmly drive up to the line.I feel if you make a big entrance then F**k up your run folk just look and say :angry015: :chicken:
