ED30 Rear Bumper Question?
« on: April 13, 2009, 07:50:08 pm »
Looking for some help please.  Can you remove the small moulded bit that sits immediately above the tailpipes - it looks as though it unclips?  If so, what is the best way of doing it as I'm getting some vinyl wrapping done?  Thanks.

A decent bodyshop should be able to sort that for you with a bit of plastic welding, You could get the towing eye done at the same time.

Jonny C has had his rapped with that bit still on.   http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=679.645

Thanks for the replies.  It sure looks like it will unclip.  Never mind I'll remove the towing eye cover for them to wrap that seperately.  Yep after the same look as Jonny C and mine is white too. :happy2:  I think I'll get the lower centre of the front spoiler wrapped as well. 8)

That's next of my list too to have the front centre section of the spliter and rear mid section wrapped   :happy2:

Where are you getting it done if you don't mind me asking??

Mmm, it's not going to be easy this!  I've just been to 2 places in Darlington that said they could do it, but now they've seen the job they say they can't.  One reckons they can't get proper vehicle wrap in matt black and the other says they can't do the moulding above the exhaust.  I have a third company to try, but he's not available until later in the week.

^yeh i did think they would struggle with that and it put me off having mine done, but it appears that some have had it done so must be possible, although i havnt seen them in person so cant comment on the quality of the job

Im not being funny but they should be able to do it, I did mine myself and I wouldnt call myself a 'professional'..

Pretty embarrassing if the 'pro's' can't do it..

Had a play on PS to make it a little more clear..

You can see its all black anyways, and the little mark that you can see at the top right of the exhaust cut out is actually a bead of water, just washed it..
