auto dim mirror glass
« on: May 07, 2011, 05:36:05 pm »
hello just after some help please

ive relised after like 1 year now, that when i bought my mirrors with puddles lights, it had the expensive auto dim glass in the driver side  :jumpmove:

now ive opened up the mirror and the wiring is in place, the two wires that are connected to mirror for the dim are black/green and black/grey

the black green wire goes to PIN 16

the black grey wires goes to PIN 8

now ive read the thread on vwvortex

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4796843-Exterior-auto-dimming-mirror

but im still confused on where i have to add wires to, do i have to add wires from connector to connector? or something else

ive pm darren just waiting on his reply

also not sure what to do  with this pic

thanks for any help!!

If you take the cover off in the drivers footwell you need to check the large connector and make sure that pins 2 + 3 are occupied if so then your auto dim should work???

If it doesn't work then you need to also check that the doors loom has the wiring in so check the 20pin plug that goes into the controller pins 1 + 10 are occupied??

Have you checked the actual operation of the dimming mirrors? by putting your hand over the front of the interior mirror and shinning a light into the sensor at the front of the mirror? All the mirrors should dim?
