Hi.Got my car going in for a service.Do I have to tell them if it's had a remap?

When my MK4 GTi was still in warranty I never told VW it was mapped when it went for it's service, and they were none the wiser  :happy2:

There is no reason for you to tell them. I never have.

So they won't mess about with the settings?

The worst that will happen is they will disconnect the battery and you have to have the map reloaded (if this removes the map) other than that they wont care, and cant mess with anything anyway.

Some ECU updates maybe a good thing, the map can always be reloaded by the Software supplier, most do it free of charge some apply a small labour charge
