mine as also gone as well,i was going to go down the hybrid route but its to much hassle..my turbo was done 2 years ago and only done 6000 miles,it was a new turbo from turbo dynamics--doesn't matter if they are new or recon as they only have 12 months warranty

Andy my turbo came from TPS and VW advised that they give a 2yr warranty on there parts unfortunately its 1 week outside :fighting: always the case.

Thanks guys for all the concern I do appreciate it :drinking:

If I decide to keep the car now I will be defo going hybrid if not then Ill just get it fixed with a new turbo and get rid.

I think Oil Starvation might be a likely cause, as Dave says 3 in a row is not right and you should look else where.

Do some research on it Darren as I have read an article somewhere recently, maybe VW Driver or Audi Driver that tells you the common and likely cause.

As for 1 week out of wty I think you've got a reasonable case as long as they don't pin it on oil starvation.

With the hybrid change all gaskets (intake/exhaust/oil in and out of turbo) and the oil feed pipe.  :happy2:

Isnt custom calibration advisable with a hybrid?
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

I would have thought so yes.

Stu I was actually thinking the exact same thing, only reason I thought it initially was that out of coincidence the oil light came on on Friday so went to VW to get some oil topped it up and thought nothing of it, but just maybe the oil light came on saying there was something else wrong so me topping it up has caused it to overfill???

Bugger!!

Ill get my mech to see if he can check oil starvation.

Cheers guys I'm hoping I get a call today letting me know whats what.

Darren :happy2:

darren the lad i with the 300bhp golf has a brand new still sealed turbo with the reciets and everything to prove its genuine and new, he put a different turbo on his so if you need a turbo he said he will sell it if you need it.

He wants £400, dont know what that price is like but he said the reciet shows he paid over £600 for it

Cheers Liver I appreciate that, but they guy doing my car has it stripped down now and called me today with the news :sad1:

He said and I quote "what the hell did you do to it" apparently the turbo is now in 2 halves :surprised: he said he's never seen one actually split in 2 the shaft and impeller where not there :sad1: but the good news is its only taken the intercooler with it.

So new hybrid turbo quote was around £750 - £800 for the turbo and a new intercooler around £250 plus obvious stuff like gaskets and lubes the Cat Converters insides are getting knocked out and mapped out and also once done it will be live mapped to make it strong :happy2:

I'm not after numbers I just want a car that is going to last.

Stu + PDT I asked him to check for oil starvation but he already checked and said it was fine nothing wrong with that,

It should be ready once we can get the turbo in.
