Cheers Nath but no smiles yet, apparently the turbo has an abnormal whistling so Steve is not letting it go until its sorted, will have another turbo on Monday afternoon :sad1:

Low, it might sound strange but I'm not after figures I just want my car back, and the engine to last so I have asked Steve to keep it conservative but strong :happy2: Should be around the 220bhp - 370lb ft??? est, Ill get down to Paul's at RS Tuning when I get chance just to confirm.

PDT I was scared the clutch would be fubared but apparently its fine and is an uprated one from what Steve was saying, the exhaust is a standard GTI but with no cat...this may change very soon?

What would your guestimate be buddy your input would be appreciated :happy2:

Well got the car back last week and felt fine for a couple of days, not giving it hell but the car just didn't feel like it used, although it is fast,

I was going to work yesterday and put my foot down a little bit more than previous, I got to around 4k rpm and the car went into limp mode car otherwise was running smooth as but with no turbo??? Any way I pulled over just before getting to work and turned the car off and back on, and it was back to full turbo.

Here is the scan for the fault, no engine light by the way.

What sort of power was it making when mapped? Why were you taking it easy with RPM/throttle?

Dave sorry mate thought I would try and get your attention but needed to document in here just in case it helps any one else :happy2:

Basically the guy who fitted the turbo and applied the map told me to run it in? so I thought I would take it steady and make sure I didn't damage anything. I've just spent £2.5k I don't want it to go again.... :scared:

Any way my mate is best friends with Paul @ RS Tuning so I'm going to call down there tomorrow and get it live mapped, has the map on it is just what has come from S/C modded to take the cat delete into account.

I'm sure you can feel the turbo stalling if your feathering the throttle?

Also today coming home from work on the m/way I was only doing 70/80mph and went to put my foot down in 6th and there was nothing there? I had to drive for another 2-3 mile and then pull over to turn it off and back on? then it was like poo off a shovel.

Running a turbo in :stupid:

When we do a stage 3 hybrid conversion on these engines we turn the lot round from a stock car to mapped on the Dyno in 3 days, turbos have no contact parts or interference bearings so there is no running in required.

More like 'take it easy to run it in' = it goes into limp mode when given any load so take it easy for a while so the car is plenty far away from us when it a goes tits up.
