ITG heat shield on air filter question?
« on: May 12, 2011, 06:49:02 pm »
I have just got hold of a k&n typhoon for pretty cheap unfortunatlly it doesnt come with the plastic heat guard around filter which it is ment to off had. So question to all:

Is the ITG heat shield at air filter just foam? I can get some foam which is slightly thinner but looks more compressed would this do the job? Also where does it get its cold air from as it removes OEM scoop?

I have just heat wrapped the intake tonight with magmashield which is pretty good stuff as its a weven tape(very like carbon fibre weave. B

Before i install i want to know about the ITG set up around air filter.

Should hopfully be fitting saturday if all goes well.

If I remember correctly. The guys at BDM say their filter ( similar to the ITG but better ) works better without the foam shielding and just a cold air feed from the foglight area.

....I think  :chicken:
