Its a 2010 version so ad says.........will it be led or lcd screen?

Hi ,

Just thought I would share my latest tale of woe over the LED / LCD differences .....

I have just bought a Version C and was told it was LED. Upon inspection it didnt have the star button but instead the loudspeaker and i button .

I have Pm'd the seller as I wanted the LED Version and was told it was LED in a PM but in fact its an LCD.

Maybe he didnt know and thought all C's were LED , Ok if thats the case its a genuine mistake but he is not answering my Pm's now
and has been online all last night so is obviosuly ignoring me in the hope I get bored and go away ?

I paid over £500 for it plus delivery , and have asked for a refund . Whats a version C with LCD actually worth, not that I want it now out of principal.

Is it unfair to name the person on the forums if they refuse to sort this out in the correct manner .

I was due to have this fitted at the weekend by someone and have now had to cancel that appointment and feel awkward messing them about but unfortunately
its out of hands until the seller mans up and gets in contact.

Sorry to post this on the forums but want to check what the protocal is when something like this happens.

A C LCD is probably worth the same (possibly a tad more) than a B LCD but certainly not as much a C LED as you are paying the extra to get an LED screen and a star button - thats the only differences.

Perhaps £450ish for an LCD variant

If you were told it was an LED and its an LCD then surely you are entitled to a refund , I would press the seller further. If they fail to refund then i would name and shame. Especially if it is a business , an individual is different but not much. I bought a C version and when i found out it was lcd i paid the extra to get a LED star button version , this was via e bay and a top rated seller

All sorted now , It was a genuine mistake - I thought it must be  as I said I've always had great service in the past.


It seems there are a lot of people out there assuming all Version C 's are LED as the seller was told it was an LED and the fitters also thought it
was an LED unit.

I'm now thinking is there really much difference in the quality of the display between an LED and LCD as so many people dont know even when its right
in front of them ?

Well got the unit today via my ebay top rated seller.........The right hand button is damaged and has not occurred in transit as it was very well packaged. The manufacture date on the side of it says November 2009 . Now i don't think the latest edition (star button was made that long ago) Also the rear of the unit does not fit together properly, to say i am pi**ed off is and understatement. The Front of the unit looks brand new. The unit has been apart and i have mailed the seller. Can the older version of the RNS510 be upgraded tio become an LED version or have i been done?

The serial number is VWZ6Z7J5310063

Sounds like its a poor recon if the back doesnt fit together and the front is brand new mate.

Try talking to the seller, otherwise file an ebay dispute for item not as described

Having looked at the back of the unit it does not fit together well and looks like it never should. Can the buttons be replaced? £600 i paid for it.

That was alot for a version C jesus!!

I think you should send it straight back. If you know what your doing, parts in them can be replaced

Return it, and buy another one mate. I almost bought one for 475, and eventually found an almost new C for 425!

Send it back!

You payed way too much esp if a re-con unit and if the security pin code has been gained by entry into the unit then when you come to update the f/w later on you could possibly brick it...
