Hi guys, I'm trying to establish which version of RNS510 is in my dads Golf. It's a August 2009 car. Ultimately he would like to upgrade it to work on full post code navigation (if at all possible). At the moment it's 5 digit post code only.

I've tried the handbook - no joy. Doesn't seem to be any discs with it either. Is there something I can press on screen to find out?

Cheers

Unfortunately not

VCDS scan or removing the unit is the only way on pre 39XX units

Can't he just hold down the setup button to get to the secret menu and check the version and software/hardware too?

Unfortunately not. You have to go into the radio with VCDS and enable it in the adaptation button on channel 51  :signLOL:

Ah well, I guess he'll just have to stick with the 5 digit post code.
Will VW introduce update discs is due course with up to date mapping and 7 digit post codes for a simple upload? Seems strange if they wouldn't given the cost of these units.
Thanks for the help guys  :happy2:

Does anybody know the difference (if there is any) between RNS510C and RNS510F?

I was ready to buy a RNS510C LED when I came across this:
