Changing exhaust - need help
« on: May 10, 2011, 09:13:53 am »
Hi all

After three years of ownership and milltek bling I am changing my quads for a more grown up and oem look. My oem exhaust is winging it's way to me today and my ed30 valance is in the body shop getting painted ready for fitting on Saturday.

Now this is where i need some help, My plan was to take the car to the exhaust fitters and get them to swap my quads for the oem zorst on Friday, then pop to the paint shop where they would swap over the valances. It has just struck me however that the new oem exhaust may not fit into the left side of the rear abt valance.

Can someone with measure the distance from the left hand side of their car to the opening for the exhaust?

Clearly I can't do mine as my new valance is getting painted. Or is the a dimensions and spec sheet somewhere I can refer to?

My paint shop won't fit the zorst and my zorst fitter won't fit the valance. If it doesn't go, looks like I have to do a double journey to the paint shop and get them to remove the abt valance, go get the zorst fitted then back to get the new ed30 valance fitted. :scared:

Hope someone can help.

It worked straight out of alexperkins excellent wrapping!  :star:

New rear valance getting fitted together with 2 replacement parking sensors on saturday, to get away from the lead singer of the Pogues look

Back to oem soon  :happy2: and the quad milly and centre pipe will get a polish and loaded in the For Sale section.

Could have just cut those 2 pipes off the right hand of the box & welded a patch over the hole.

Plus unlike a normal single tailpipe exhaust, you would only have one exit splitting into two tail pipes instead of an exit for each tail pipe like the OEM box and milltek twins :happy2:
