My new gti!
« on: March 11, 2009, 10:25:33 am »
not totally new but ive only had 3 weeks absolutely love it! gave it a quick wash at weekend, not a detail by any means im total newbie to all this!  anyway quick question before some pics.

i washed then polished with autoglym srp followed by autoglym extra gloss protection followed by a coat of collinite 915. if i wash it again this weekend wot do i need to use? i guess wot im asking is how often do i polish/gloss/wax??
i put a few coats of poorboys wheel sealant on aswell for good measure :happy2:

Looks great mate. I re apply wax every 10-12wks and do a full polish/detail every 4-6mths. Get some sealant on there.

Very lush looking car, and the best, fastest and strongest colour too!

The AG SRP is a filler polish so it has tiny particles to fill any swirls. These will eventually be washed away over time which you'll notice after washing.

For regular washes, remember to use the two-bucket method and after a couple of wash and rinse cycles, dry and apply the collinite. No need for EGP/SRP unless you remove all the wax (use a clay) and get back to a fresh base on which to restart, which I would do every three months, maybe more, maybe less.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
