Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI DSG - Back in a VAG
« on: May 13, 2011, 10:22:20 pm »
Hello all. Well, i couldnt live with the Gordini any more. As good as the car was, it had no soul like my favourite German cars. Today we organised a part exchange deal through the company we work for. Getting the following Rocco.

Its done a fair few miles, but wont get driven much now. Spec on it was great. Just a smidge over 2 years old.

Pearl Black
DSG
RNS510
MFSW
Winter pack
Parking sensors
Cruise control
MDI iPod Prep in armrest

Looking forward to getting behind the wheel again.

Just being in a VAG car makes me happy. I think soul was probably the wrong word. I just didnt bond with the Gordini. Fantastic on track and b-roads. But just missing something. Considering ive had about 20x VAG cars, and i also own a Mk2 Scirocco Track car too.  :happy2:

I'm surprised because this side of a supercar the Clio is maybe the best "Hot Hatch" to date, I was considering a RS200 as a second car now a I have changed  my Premier Edition Civic Type R for a GT Sport as a daily.

Having said that with a few £££ the GT sport would be a good Hot Hatch in its own right............

The Clio lost over £7k from its RRP in 10 months. I lost over £5k on it. They depreciate like a brick sinking in water.

No doubt, the Clio is a great drivers car. But when you look under them, you see where Renault made the cuts. Nothing is coated against corrosion. Driveshafts were rusty within a couple of thousand miles.

Thanks wigit. Looked at your thread on the Scirocco Register yesterday.

PM me about the KWs.

Edit: Just realised the KW springs only lower 20mm. Looking for H&R for a 35mm drop to be honest.

That looks bang tidy Deako  :happy2:

I know what you mean regarding having a soul for VAG cars and perhaps the VAG scene too?  :happy2: I certainly have that passion and this is my first VW.

Keen to see what you do with this. I think Scirocco's look fantastic when modded with good results.
A drop is a must so you're already not hanging around which is ace

Sounds good to me chief. Tidy set of mods there  :popcornsoda: :happy2:

It looks well but will look very healthy with these touches.
I've considered the Roc myself, as has my mate coming from an EP3 CTR. We simply just agree they're still a little pricey at the mo' for us both  :sad1:

Which wheels are on the menu?
Pete

18" TD Pro Race 1.2s. My favourite wheel, loved them on our Clio Gordini. I want some big brakes too.  :ashamed: And the wife wants to replace the seats with some leather ones.

Will sell the Interlagos which are all new when i get the TDs. They were all replaced, at least they seem that way. I know at least 2 were.

Car is back home now. My cherished plate is fitted D9 AKO.  :happy2:

Happy with the car. Might get it booked into VW asap, slight jerk from the DSG on take off and a very slight whine at low speeds, ignition barrel catches slightly.

Very happy with the car though. Good to be back in a new VAG car.
