Before I ring the dealers.... Advice please.
« on: May 14, 2011, 08:56:46 am »
Hi All
Picked up my brand new mk6 yesterday.
When I got home after a drive had a look round the car, I know I should have done it at the show room.
But.
Should it come with the:
 MDI cable?
 Bottle Opener?
 NAV discs?

Also should the front parking sensors work when driving forwards into a parking space? They only work when reversing???

Very very poor PDI. Sales guy put latest maps on while we were signing up. Date & time not ets etc. Car dusty/dirty to inside. Think I was expecting too much.

Thought I would ask here before looking like a complete twit.
No Golf anymore.

Thank You Everyone.

MDI cables are often in the manual pack, I think I read that here somewhere.

Bottle Opener/DVD.... I'd raise it but hard to prove now you've left site.

Interesting point about the front parking sensors.

Don't know the answer but thinking about it may be the fronts have to be switched on.
I was thinking if you're in a traffic queue creeping along and got too close would they automatically sound ?

The bottle opener is normally issued from parts because so many 'disappeared' during transit from the factory.

Well credit to the dealer. They had noticed they were missing. Has the bottle opener and MDI cable waiting for me, just forgot to put them in.

New cars don't come with the DVD as it's all loaded on the HDD. Updated at service.

Front parking sensors only work in reverse. Really don't get that one.
Cars I have had before the sensors come on when the speed drops. Yes it can be a PITA in traffic jams. Used to switch them off and forget they were off lol.

Front sensors should have a button in front of the gearstick to turn them on, or they will come on when you put it in reverse, your dealer should have told you this.  If you need anything at the moment your dealer will go out of their way to help you as they need a good result when you get the csq phone call from the brand. And your car should have a NAV dvd, but half the time they are not given out as they forget to order them and just load the maps onto hd from a dvd they have around. Updates are not part of a service, make sure you ask for them to be done at service time.

 :signLOL:

All of a sudden the passenger mirror has started to dip when reversing.

Think the front sensors are working too.
