Didn't they also do a Mk4 with a 1.8 20v non-turbo?  :stupid:

Wrong ones been taken out!

Should be the boat MK3 left out........

It was the MkIV that was an insult to the marque. Especially the god-awful n/a 2.0!

Agreed that was an awful engine combo to be in any car with a 'GTI' badge!! But that was the only bad engine as the rest of the lineup was superb. Can't say that about the boat MK3!

Fair point, most of the engines were pretty good. We wont go into chassis dynamics though... Speaking of bad engines, anyone ever driven an SDI?

Sorry...

Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

Mile-muncher ordered: MkVI 1.6 TDi BlueMotion Match DSG with leather, winter pack, luxury pack, fogs, climate control, Dynaudio pack, RCD510 with DAB & MDI, flat tyre indicator

I'd still rather have a mk4 than a mk3 any time.  In fact i have had all except the mk3, and dont plan on ever having one, they are the insult to the GTi brand!
