Michelin Supersports
« on: May 16, 2011, 10:52:20 pm »
Get them!

They live up to the hype.

Best tyre ive ever had period.

Loads better than toyo R1R, michy ps2, bridgestone re050a, GY assy.

They were designed to reduce understeer in super high performance vehicles. The TTRS with a stock chassis suffers from understeer when pushing on the accelerator mid corner which drives me mad.

However I went out earlier, testing these new tyres out and where the car used to understeer before the car was now handling neutrally. Honestly its amazing, infact its more than amazing its a miracle.

Totally falling inlove with the car all over again, and am enjoying the chassis now.

Cant wait to get some KW clubsports on her and some ARBs and bushes. And haldex controller!  :signLOL:

No doubt they are good as a fast road tyre, but i have them in 235/35-19" and compared to the Toyo R1R that i have in 225/40-18" i don't find them to have as much straight line grip as the Toyo's. So for a FWD car compared to 4wd i would still take the Toyo's over the Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
Thatt being said in 19" where the Toyo's aren't available i would still take the super sports over the competitors.
When i reflect over the reviews i have read, the cars that are used are mostly RWD, and they have a totally different weight transfer to the power wheels so they might shine more when used on those types of cars.
I will attend a track day next friday and as my new (used) TD PR 1.2 that will have the Toyo's fitted aren't ready yet i will attend on the 19" SS's so will let you guys know how i find them on track.  :happy2:   :drinking:

Over the top mod list ;o)

The supersports are a replacement for the PS2. The PS3 isn't a direct replacement to the PS2, it's actually less sports orientated. The SS has been positioned as a higher performance tyre than the PS2, in between that and semi-slicks.
