Trial Stage 1
« on: May 17, 2011, 06:06:31 pm »
I am interested in a remap after having a ride in my mates Stage 2 at the weekend and whilst checking out the Revo website I saw there is a 5 hour Trial version I could try. Having no prices I could find I hit the contact button.

I emailed them but like many garages did not get back to me. All I want to know is how much the trial costs.

Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

It is worth looking at other options like PDT's map. Reviews on here are very good and considerably cheaper than Revo. Obviosuly they all have their own benefits..i.e. with Revo you are part of a wide customer base, ability to chnage settings using the Switch+, With someone like PDT or other independent you have personal interaction with the tuner to procide customer support.

Worth reading the reviews on here and seeing what suits you best.

I'm sure they do but it's only like 80% of the full map... I'd get the full map done and if not happy use the 30day money back guarantee... I bet you you won't be using it! :happy2:

Plus it leaves a ghost of the revo software on your ECU

VCDS Scanning/Coding, RNS and MDI retrofits, and specialist mechanics services with VAGtek available - Just PM me for details.

I had a trial on my last car, when the map goes back to stock after the 5 hour trial it is actually a revo copy of the VW map, not the original VW software, not that it made a difference as VW will flash it next time they get it for anything

Mine made 214 on a Dyno RR with the stock Revo version......Just make sure you go back to the Revo Dealer and ask them to flash back a VW factory stock if you think about going elsewhere.

Ok Revo don't do it anymore which is a shame but if it's not a true reflection then I should just go for it!

How much does it put your insurance up on average??

I have and stage two, was going to get them to do stage 1 revo demo before I had the hardware for stage 2 fitted, they advised me the trial map is not a true representation of the full version, the trial is deliberately boosty down low to make it feel quicker, so I would just get a full map by a reputable company, you should see 45 bhp gain, be warned you will soon want stage 2 lol !

Mine managed to make 265bhp with the revo stock file on a dyno, 246bhp with the vw stock file, thats with hpfp, tbe, forge twintake aswell on both versions.
just ask them to put a revo stock file on, its free, and you gain some hp :signLOL:
