Lowest Springs?
« on: May 18, 2011, 10:45:45 pm »
Getting my springs at the end of the month, was just going to settle for 30mm Apex's but they just don't seem that low really?

Wanting to go slightly lower but can't afford coilovers, so the question is what are the lowest springs out there?

Secondly is it advised to go any lower then 30mm on springs only?

Cheers!

Wouldn't put APEX on my car. I'd rather save them for the boys in corsas.

I always regret not buying H&Rs as they seem to have the lowest drop. (i have eibach sportlines which are a few mil higher)

HTH  :happy2:

Only reason I was going to go with Apex was because they are the only springs that can drop 35mm.

Obviously I would love coilovers but I don't do track days, long motorway miles or nothing like that I just go to and from work so couldn't justify spending X amount on the for me.

I had H&R's on mine, 30mm drop, got rid of the arch gap, but didn't go as low as I wanted (says the man now on air )
You could always get the springs then when you get more funds add them to a set of shocks?

Thinking of a set of Eibachs, been looking at how people roll on them (sounds gangsta lol) and it just seams to sit very nice, just how I want really!

These measurements don't take into account the GTI/GT is already around 15mm lower than a standard Golf.

In reality the H+Rs drop the GTI around 35mm all round and the Sportlines (which I have) drop about 35mm on the fronts and 20-25mm on the rear.
